§ 22-20. Plats and subdivisions.

  • The owners of lots or parcels of land within the corporate limits of the city as now defined, or as hereafter defined to be the limits of the city, who shall subdivide or lay out such lots or grounds into a subdivision, shall comply with all provisions of the city ordinances in the platting and development of said land. By ordinance, the city commission shall have the power to prescribe reasonable regulations applicable to the subdivision, platting and development of any lands within the city, and prescribe minimum standards governing the installation of public utilities, sidewalks, streets, parks, drainage and other improvements within said subdivision, and prohibit the sale of lots until such regulations have been complied with. The city may share in part or all of the cost of such improvements and may require subdivision to bear part or all of such cost. The city may prohibit the sale of lots.
